Through STC-SA (Pty) Ltd's affiliation to the STC Group in Rotterdam, it provides direct access to STC B.V. which was established through an amalgamation of the contractual education department of the Shipping and Transport College, Maritime Simulation Rotterdam B.V. (MSR), Dynamar Consultancy B.V. and the International Maritime Transport Academy (IMTA). STC B.V. presents courses and accelerated training to adults with regard to shipping, on- and offloading in ports, inland transport and the harbour-related processing industry. In the field of education and training, on every functional level of the transport chain, STC B.V. is the market leader with regard to administrative / logistic / management functions and operational functions. STC B.V. has a unique training centre with state-of-the-art full-mission simulators and practical facilities. STC-SA (Pty) Ltd. is affiliated to the Maputo Corridor Logistics Initiative (MCLI),. It is a non-profit organisation consisting of Infrastructure Investors, Service Providers and Stakeholders from Mozambique, South Africa and Swaziland, who are focussed on the promotion and further development of the Maputo Development Corridor (MDC) as the region's primary logistics transportation route. MCLI is ideally positioned to advantageously facilitate inclusively between all stakeholders, public and private, across national borders. It aims to co-ordinate the views of Service Providers and Users of the Corridor, engaging primarily the governments of SA, Mozambique and Swaziland by:
- removing barriers along the Corridor
- informing the market of developments on the Corridor and
- marketing the strategic benefits and opportunities of using it
- thereby making the MCLI the first choice for the regions importers and exporters alike.
Since the inception of the Mpumalanga Freight Logistics Forum (MFLF), MCLI has been acting as its Secretariat. It gives its members direct participation in the development and roll-out of the South African National Government Department of Transport's National Freight Logistics Strategy in the Province of Mpumalanga, through the Mpumalanga Provincial Department of Roads and Transport.
